ABOUT my Chinese classes!
Come and learn conversational Chinese with mE -- NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE!
I offer classes in two different formats. The first is totally online. The second is a hybrid arrangement -- that means I teach simultaneously in-person and on Zoom. As a result, no matter which format your class uses, you have the chance to learn right from the comfort of your own home. What could be more convenient? Hěn hǎo! 很好！
In fact, one of my students attends class from as far away as India, meaning he participates in all of the activities at 3:30 in the morning his time. What motivation! What perseverance! You can do that, too!
So what will you learn in class? In “Mandarin Chinese I Conversational,” you’ll discover how to greet people, say “Thank you” and “You’re welcome,” and start simple conversations. You’ll learn how to say, “I’m sorry,” too, and then go on to another exciting topic: ordering a meal in a restaurant. (This is one I’m especially passionate about!)
In my more advanced classes, you’ll expand on the themes you’ve covered before. Next, you’ll explore ordering drinks and shopping for heaps of items in the marketplace (two more of my all-time favorite topics)!
Then you'll discover how to chit-chat at parties as well as talk about the day of the week, month of the year, and time of the day. You’ll learn to read and write a panoply of Chinese characters, too.
In all of my classes, you’ll discover how culture seamlessly weaves into daily conversations. Plus, you’ll be working with the dialogues, activities, and audio recordings of my textbook. Called, Dancing with Dragons: Leap into the Chinese Language, it introduces Chinese in a buoyant and entertaining way.
In fact, when coming to class, the most important thing to remember is to have fun -- no matter whether your future includes the Great Wall of China, the boardroom of a Chinese company, or graduate school at a major university!
