        About My ChineseTextbook:

Dancing with Dragons!

Dancing with Dragons: Leap into the Chinese Language is a nine-book textbook set that teaches beginning conversational skills.  It focuses on a variety of simple, daily-life tasks, like greeting people, making introductions, ordering in a restaurant (my absolute favorite!), and shopping in a marketplace (also a delight)!

Each book in the series offers a different way to learn the language.  For example, one book gives you grammar explanations, another provides pronunciation guides, and a third delivers fun, lively games to help you build up your newfound skills.  Are you hankering to learn about the Chinese people and their customs?  Then why not pick up the book filled with essays exploring Chinese culture?  All the essays are written in English, so you can read them even when you’re relaxing after a busy day.

Most important, Dancing with Dragons presents Chinese in an easy, encouraging, and entertaining style.  So even if you’re feeling a little nervous about studying the language, you’ll never lack the courage and stamina to keep on going.  After all, a part of you will be excited to see what enjoyable activity comes next!

Eager to get started?  Great!  (Tài hǎo le 太好了!)  If you are my student at Schoolcraft College, you can buy the main part of Dancing with Dragons – the Core Vocabulary & Core Dialogues book – right from the Schoolcraft College bookstore.  Nothing could be easier!  If you’re then ready to expand your horizons and explore other fascinating material from the textbook series, simply contact me.  I can send you an email with links to the sections that interest you most.

Oh, you’re not a Schoolcraft College student?  No worries!  (Méi wèn-tí   没问题!)  All you have to do is contact me, and we can discuss which parts of my textbook are most suitable for you.  Then I can send you an email with the appropriate links.

But wait!  There’s more.  Dancing with Dragons also includes a panoply of audio recordings.  They accompany the vocabulary, dialogues, and other Chinese sounds in the textbook.  Would you like to listen to these audio productions and hear native Chinese speakers communicating in a clear and pleasing way?  Wonderful!  (Fēi-cháng hǎo 非常好!) Feel free to contact me once more, and I can send you an email with the audio links.  Then you’ll have the chance to listen to the language whenever and for as long as you’d like.

If you have any remaining questions, you know what to do:  Feel free to contact me, and I will do my best to answer your queries.  I wish you much success and happiness in mastering Chinese!
